If his jokes don’t land, someone dies.
Reel Factory is proud (and slightly nervous) to announce the release of ‘Lollipop Man’, a darkly hilarious short film co-written by and starring the unstoppable David Correos. You know his stand-up comedy — now see him perform it to cows.
A workplace comedy set on a roadwork site, ‘Lollipop Man’ follows a wannabe stand-up comedian who is challenged to keep a car crash survivor alive until the ambulance arrives. Directed and co-written by agency creative Sam Deane (Pitchblack), this film is equal parts lol and what-the-hell-did-I-just-watch.
On early reactions, Sam said, “My Mum didn’t like it. But she thought it was very well made. Israel Adesanya ‘liked’ the trailer, so that was pretty cool.”
David Correos, best known for his chaotic energy and Billy T Award-winning comedy, takes things to the next level in ‘Lollipop Man’, proving that dying on stage isn’t always just a metaphor. He’s joined by a stellar Kiwi cast including Hamish Parkinson, Tammy Davis, Donna Brookbanks, and Sam’s 87-year-old grandfather.
The best part? You don’t have to wait. ‘Lollipop Man’ is out now and free to watch in full, below.
Dan Watkins, EP at Reel Factory said, “It’s short. You have time.”
David said of his performance, “Moooooo."
