Red Baron Is Giving Away Free Pizza for a Year to One Lucky Winner in New Digital Contest

TBWA\Chiat\Day LA taps TikTok creators to usher in a new wave of hometown pizza pride

Everyone knows that NYC, St. Louis, Detroit and Chicago all have their own iconic signature style pizzas, but what about all the other cities in America? 

Red Baron has launched a new digital campaign and contest from TBWA\Chiat\Day LA titled, 'Red Baron Hometown Throwdown Challenge', designed to highlight the unique hometown flavors found across the country. With the help from TikTok content creators like Los Angeles foodie, Kevin Novarpar, aka: @how.kev.eats, Red Baron is encouraging TikTok users to comment which toppings they’d put on a Red Baron pizza to make it representative of their hometown. 

One lucky winner announced on National Pizza Pie Day, February 9, will have the chance to win the grand prize of $1,000 and a year’s supply of free Red Baron pizza.

Other creators digging into this challenge include @therealtati, @mississippi_kween, @thatmidwesternmom, @natelovlogs, @marcosworldNYC and @maddiegoetzzzzz. 

“Beyond voices that are fun and approachable, we chose the supporting cast with influence from a few criteria points that were important to us and essential to the success of the idea,” said Martin Insua, creative director at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA. “We were looking for interesting personalities with a strong tie to a city or hometown. To us, the number of followers was less important than the way that they interact with their communities.” 

Created in collaboration with creative agency TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles, the digital campaign will run exclusively on TikTok via @RedBaronPizza, @How.Kev.Eats & other participating influencer handles, with supportive social assets running on Instagram and TikTok. 

“Red Baron Hometown Throwdown Challenge” is an extension of Red Baron’s new brand platform “Share Something Awesome,” which first launched in October 2022. As part of the long-term strategy for the brand, Red Baron is committed to spearheading ways to bring people together to create moments that matter, online and offline.
