Here at Wise Music, we’re lucky to work with some of the world’s best composers who have delivered incredible, award-winning scores for a myriad of amazing movies and television shows.
German composer Volker Bertelmann won the original score Oscar and BAFTA for the World War I epic “All Quiet on the Western Front”, having been previously nominated under his stage name Hauschka for his music for the 2016 film “Lion” (co-composed with another of our composers Dustin O’Halloran).
“The Piano” soundtrack is by English minimalist composer Michael Nyman, who wrote a fittingly captivating and affecting score for the film. The main theme, which is titled ‘The Heart Asks Pleasure First’, is especially memorable and enchanting. Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds was integral to creating the mood for the award-winning drama series ‘Broadchurch’, setting the tone perfectly with a starkly melodic, often unsettling score Jocelyn Pook is often remembered for her film score to ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, which won her a Chicago Film Award and a Golden Globe nomination. On the topic of nominations, the soundtrack to ‘A Suitable Boy’ by Anoushka Shankar and Alex Heffes was nominated for Best Television Soundtrack at the Ivor Novello awards.
