RadicalMedia has signed award-winning filmmaker Marc Webb to its iconic roster of directors for representation in the U.S. spanning commercials, branded content, and music videos. Webb is one of the most sought-after feature film, commercial, and music video directors working today.
Webb’s first feature was the indie summer romantic comedy (500 Days) of Summer, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. The film was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, including Best Picture, and The National Board of Review honored Webb with their Spotlight Award, which recognizes outstanding directorial debuts. Before long, he was handpicked by Sony Pictures to steer the massive smash hit The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Sally Field which grossed over $750 million worldwide. He returned to direct the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which released in 2014. During Webb’s commitment to the Spider-Man franchise, he also directed episodes of The Office. From 2015 - 2019, Webb was an executive producer on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which he also wrote and directed episodes for.
Many of Webb’s music videos were instantly iconic and instrumental to the launch of his successful career in features, including his videos for Green Day “21 Guns”, AFI “Miss Murder”, My Chemical Romance “Helena”, and The All-American Rejects “Move Along.’ The body of work catapulted Marc into the rarefied stratosphere of music video directors that could successfully crossover into feature films. He also directs commercials, with campaigns for Allstate, Target, and USPS to name a few.
“I’ve been wanting to work with Marc as soon as I saw 500 Days of Summer,” said RadicalMedia president and EP, Frank Scherma. “That film is so relatable to everyone, with such real and truthful performances. I should have known based on his amazing music videos that he would be celebrated on so many levels of filmmaking. We are thrilled to have Marc on board.”
“I’ve always loved the craft, collaboration and creativity in the short form and look forward to working with the team at Radical,” said director Marc Webb. “It’s a fascinating time to be creating content, and I feel like they are always looking at the business in new ways.”view more - Hires, Wins & BusinessRadicalMedia US, Thu, 13 Oct 2022 16:38:00 GMT
