Pulse Films has today announced the signing of recent UK Music Video Awards (UKMVAs) winner Aube Perrie for music video and commercial representation in the UK & US.
Aube has most recently found increased success in directing Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Thot Shit’ music video, which in its first two weeks earned nearly 13 million views.
In the video, Aube combines horror movie call-backs, referencing The Shining and Nightmare on Elm Street, with a political message for the Grammy Award-winning rapper. At last week’s 2021 UKMVAs ‘Thot Shit’ was awarded Best International Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Video and Aube himself was named Best New Director.
Prior to this, Aube directed music videos for American DJ MK, as well as various European artists, including Belgian singer-songwriter Angèle and French band L'Impératrice, duo VIDEOCLUB and DJs Petit Biscuit and Møme.
Aube Perrie said of the signing: "You meet the people; you look at the work and you can tell that everyone at Pulse is guided by a brilliant creative culture and purpose. Like-minded people at a very passionate level. A hyper-talented family on a creative journey I'm very excited to join!".
James Sorton, MD commercials and music videos, Pulse Films said: “Aube is an exceptional new talent with a unique creative vision and perspective. He’s made two of the hottest music videos of the last year, is super smart and creates intelligent, memorable and timeless work. We are thrilled that he is joining the Pulse Films roster”.
Rik Green, head of music videos, Pulse Films added: His work is playful, provocative, wild and all with a knack for story-telling. This marks him as one of the most interesting directors to be working with in music videos and I can't wait to see what we do next."
