Ewan MacLeod and James Niklasson join Publicis Groupe's production arm

Prodigious, the recently re-launched production platform of the Publicis Groupe, today announces two senior appointments to its integrated production team. The appointments mark the first step in a wave of investments and developments for the multi-national company.

Ewan MacLeod joins as Director of Integrated Production, with James Niklasson appointed Head of Production. Ewan will have responsibility for building the new Post Production facility and forging strong relationships with TV departments both within the Publicis Groupe and externally. James will utilise his extensive knowledge of post and production, alongside his understanding of the current market, to oversee and manage all client work.

The appointments are part of wider changes following the recent launch of Prodigious, including a significant financial investment in the Whitfield Street facility. All infrastructure and kit are being upgraded, with additional creative talent joining while the hunt is underway for new premises. The changes mark a move towards closer collaboration between all Publicis Groupe agencies. The upgraded facility and new internal structure will offer a seamless end to end service that is unique to the London market.

A founding partner of Golden Square Post Production and the digital content company Disqo, Ewan brings with him over twenty years of international post production experience, including a background in providing content solutions that cross all media platforms.

James has worked in a variety of post production and media roles over the last fifteen years, most recently as executive producer at The VFXco. As a post and VFX specialist James provides bespoke creative and technical solutions to broadcast, commercial and digital industry clients. Starting out as a hands on creative, James was instrumental in founding the Hive animation (part of the VTR Group), was a founder of Lime creative studios and executive producer at both TAG & Smoke and Mirrors. Previous clients include Land Rover, Adidas, Nokia and Panasonic.

Ewan says: “Following the re-launch our new team is now perfectly placed to offer a bespoke end to end production service on a global scale.  We have a fantastic opportunity here to create something truly different. By taking advantage of new technology and adopting new working practises we'll be able to service our clients efficiently and cost effectively across all mediums including digital and print, by utilising the extensive resources from within the Groupe.”

Morgan Cox, General Manager, Prodigious UK, adds "Prodigious is undergoing a series of dramatic changes at the moment, so we are in particular need of an exceptionally strong senior team. Ewan and James have exactly the right experience for the task at hand, the extent of their combined backgrounds means they are just what we need to help take the new look production platform forward."
