The Portuguese General Health Committee and LOLA-NORMAJEAN have brought together four major Portuguese broadcasters – the RTP, SIC, TVI and CMTV – in an unprecedented event where news anchors from each station will deliver the headlines under the same motto: ‘WE ARE ALL ONE VOICE’. The initiative aims to put competition aside in order to fight the pandemic, setting an example of union and maximising the opportunity for all Portuguese people to receive important information that may help save lives.
“When we’re constantly flooded with information, people tend to tune out. To regain their attention, we needed to be creative, especially when there is serious information to pass on at this time. While the message is important, we wanted to make sure people received the information and retained in order to keep themselves and others safe. In order to do this, we came up with a strong idea that’s both strategically relevant and creative to help the people of Portugal stay safe,” comments LOLA-NORMAJEAN CEO, Rodrigo Silva Gomes.
The initiative aims to use the country’s most trusted sources to inform the Portuguese people about new procedures recommended by the DGS to help them recognise any symptoms of Covid-19.
“Through this initiative, we were able to bring together news anchors from four competitor stations in the hope of getting the public to pay even more attention to the new measures put in place by the DGS. It is a privilege for the agency to be involved a campaign to help spread this important message which could reach so many Portuguese people. At this time, it is essential to put aside any rivalry or competition to work together towards the common goal of beating this virus,” says LOLA-NORMAJEAN ECD, Serginho Lobo.
