Given that Pitch & Sync has been working in Amsterdam for its entire 13 years, it seemed right for its team to give back to this culturally rich city by staging a continuous showcase of talent.
Following the announcement of Duncan Stutterheim as the new owner of Amsterdam’s historic Westergasfabriek, with the aim to make the site a ‘diverse cultural village,’ Pitch & Sync wanted to bring this vision to life.
In line with Duncan’s vision to turn the Meterhuis into a ‘rotating art exhibition’ throughout the month, it was visually transformed by the ‘Veldhoen & Schiffmacher’ tattoo artists, Collective 416. Henk Schiffmacher is one of Holland's most well-known tattoo artists famed for inking Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kurt Cobain and Pearl Jam.
Not only did Denise curate a remarkable month of entertainment, she was responsible for genuine musical 'moments', something that doesn't happen every day, when you clock a stranger in the audience and you both know you’re hearing something very special indeed.
The programme mixed genres and showcased unparalleled musical talent - including Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), who offered a performance on Pitch & Sync's bespoke 10 Octave Piano (April 23rd), an intimate performance from local Dutch artist Someone (April 18th), and a funk-gone-afrobeat tinged party set from INI & Friends debuting tracks off singer LYMA‘s new EP (April 4th), just to name a few.
