PIRATE SOUND has announced the addition of Laura Nikolic to its team as the new executive music producer and music supervisor. In her role as head of film, television and animation, Laura will spearhead the growth and global showcase of PIRATE SOUND’s expertise. Her leadership will encompass every stage of the production process—from budgeting and contract negotiations to music selection and placement.

Laura brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the table, eager to collaborate with music supervisors, composers, directors, and producers to craft high-quality music that enhances storytelling. A Proven Industry Leader 

Most recently, Laura served as supervising music producer for Nelvana’s Music Department at Corus Entertainment, where she oversaw music for numerous productions. Her standout contributions include shaping the unique musical identity of Barney’s World and serving as music director and producer on four seasons of Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go! Laura managed production workflows, collaborated with songwriters and underscore composers, and infused every project with creative precision. Her talent for creating distinct sonic worlds has been a hallmark of her career.

A Versatile and Experienced Professional 

With nearly 15 years in the music industry, Laura has established herself as a seasoned music supervisor, producer, and composer, leaving her mark in both advertising and long-form content. She began her career composing for commercials, radio, short films, and television, working with top composers on projects for iconic brands like Pepsi and Molson Canadian. Her ability to identify talent and select music that complements the emotional and visual tone of each project has made her a trusted partner in the industry.
