Procter & Gamble have continued their Olympic campaign with five new spots out of Wieden+Kennedy Portland.
The TVCs showcase the success of three US Olympic medal winners, Jordyn Wieber, Ashton Eaton and Gabby Douglas, and their mother’s reactions to the athlete’s successes.
‘
Trials Reactions’ features Ashton Eaton breaking the world record in the decathlon event and the support he receives from his mother.
Gabby Douglas is the centrepiece of ‘
Rising to the Occasion’. The 16-year-old gymnast’s big moment is captured perfectly.
Women’s gymnast, Jordyn Wieber stars in two of the spots. ‘
Biggest Fan’ focuses on the success of the US gymnast team, whereas ‘
Try Again’ focuses on a sense of possible disappointment. Wieber was expected to win the individual competition, however she did not qualify. Advice from her mother on bounce-back ability is given.
Viewers are treated to a mum-tage during ‘
Excuse Us’. They may cheer too loudly and flap their arms in your faces. ‘Fanatic’ may be more fitting than ‘fan’. But you have to excuse them. They’re mums.
