Allie Avital and Partizan’s fourth collaboration with Moses Sumney is quite possibly their finest yet, following on from the visually arresting promo for ‘Lonely World’.
The surreal film was shot on location in Connecticut and Denmark, and features Moses at a picturesque horse ranch.
The captivating cinematography and wide angle shots draw you in, and don’t let you go until the very end. The close bond between Avital and Sumney is clear, with Sumney giving an enthralling performance.
The beautiful and dramatic snowy landscapes add to the purity of the film, and the surreal elements reimagine the horse as Sumney’s lover. The ‘Quarrel’ begins when the horse sees that Sumney’s equine obsession may have gone a bit too far.
