As part of its ongoing commitment to training and development, Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC) has delivered the sixth session of its Digital Works training program in Greater China.
Conducted in partnership with Fudan University in Shanghai, Digital Works is designed to enhance digital knowledge and marketing skills among employees and clients of Omnicom Group agencies.
Jason Kuperman, Vice President, Omnicom Digital, said, “In almost every market in Asia Pacific, building a better base of digital talent is a key challenge facing both client and agency organizations. We are thrilled to bring this latest session of the Digital Works program to Greater China and to help raise the level of knowledge and excitement about digital media.”
The Digital Works program is divided into three modules:
- an introduction to the Internet, including an overview of China’s new media history
- a workshop where attendees develop strategies in response to a real client brief
- panels featuring digital industry leaders
Launched in 2008, the Digital Works program is designed, managed, and run by Omnicom agencies and by Fudan University’s School of Journalism. Fudan is ranked as one of China’s top three institutions of higher learning, while the School of Journalism has produced many of the country’s leading journalists and communications professionals.
Classes are taught by senior professionals from Omnicom agencies; by professors and scholars from Fudan University and other leading Chinese universities; and by top-level marketing executives. Participants receive a Professional Training Certificate from Fudan University and Omnicom upon successful completion of the program.
“Omnicom Group agencies consistently deliver award-winning solutions to clients around the world and across Asia Pacific,” said Serge Dumont, Omnicom Group Vice Chairman. "We are committed to exposing a wide range of Omnicom agencies’ employees and clients to this excellent program, and to continuously raising the level of digital competence in the industry.”
In addition to the training held at Fudan University in Shanghai, Omnicom Group is holding Digital Works sessions at the Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) in India; the Singapore Management University; and the University of Indonesia in Jakarta.
