OB Management director Thomas James, and his debut commercial for ride-hailing app Bolt, has been nominated for three awards at this year’s coveted British Arrows. Not only is he up for Young & Emerging Talent category but the film has also been shortlisted for the Transport & Tourism award and the Cinematography award for Franklin Dow.
The film follows a young professional as she steadily reconnects with the real world in the aftermath of lockdown. Told through a myriad of clever match-cuts and visually poetic vignettes, James delivers a triumphant collage of emotion, that meanders from the isolated, nostalgic and frustrated digital world, to a more tangible and celebratory life offline.
Special mention must go to Nikolay Vanchev and Makssymilian Malicki at Bolt for having the vision to go with Thomas for their first ever brand campaign in the UK. And to Thomas, who was quick to repay that faith with an authentic and beautifully crafted film.
Bolt kicked off a busy year for Thomas which saw him hone his refined cinematic aesthetic on other brands such as Bell’s, Bloom & Wild and Ballantine’s.
Thomas is represented by OB Management for commercials, content and music videos.
