Nissan Qashqai is launching ProPILOT – the first iteration of the ‘Nissan Intelligent Mobility’ autonomous driving technology – in the UK with a £3-million integrated campaign from TBWA\London and Manning Gottlieb OMD.
The campaign centres around a skateboarding astronaut as a metaphor for how ProPILOT gives drivers a sense of freedom, precision and control. Each execution signs off with the new ‘Tech That Moves’ strapline to emphasise Nissan’s credentials in the mobility space.
Although the main TV commercial breaks on Friday 28 June across Channel 4, ITV and Sky, enigmatic teasers will appear across social in the lead up to the TV spot’s debut, alongside bespoke cinema executions which include an immersive 4DX experience. The teasers, which were produced by TBWA\London, comprise CG close-ups of an astronaut’s helmet, where its reflections illustrate the smooth navigation of urban roads.
Nissan’s marketing director, Nicolas Verneuil, said: “Nissan’s advanced ProPILOT drive assistance technology adds a greater level of confidence, control and enjoyment to the UK’s best-selling crossover. Qashqai is a leader in terms of innovative design and technologies that enhance the ownership experience. The new campaign expresses the benefits of this new technology to audiences in a very relevant way and with an engaging accompaniment to their cinematic experience.”
