The ‘Innovation Garage’ allows consumers to showcase invention ideas
To celebrate its most innovative year ever, Nissan is launching ‘Nissan Innovation Garage’, a social movement that lets everyone showcase their big idea for an invention.
The project lives on http://nissaninnovationgarage.com, where you simply describe and name your idea. Then just click Facebook Connect, and you’re surprised with an epic film about … spoiler alert … you.
Each idea goes to the Garage Gallery, where a panel of judges ultimately decides which innovators will each win a $50,000 grant (as well as an all-new Altima) to turn their concepts into full-blown reality. Not to mention a Kickstarter video to unleash said idea on the world. The idea with the most viewer votes also takes home a 2013 Altima.
It’s all inspired by the legions of normal folks working to improve the world with their ingenuity — and by the totally reimagined fifth-generation Altima. With new features like NASA-inspired "zero-gravity" front seats and best-in-segment fuel economy, it's the most innovative Altima to date.
