Nissan has launched a new campaign to showcase the Qashqai's ProPILOT technology.
Created by Nissan United - TBWA\G1, the advert uses the moon landing to celebrate technology’s ability to move us physically and emotionally. “Technology for the sake of technology is worthless, what matters is how it makes you feel,” says Xavier Diquet, Nissan Europe content and engagement GM. “At Nissan, this is exactly what we strive for. To give drivers a greater, more exciting, amplified driving experience thanks to the power of Nissan Intelligent Mobility innovations.”
In partnership with ITV, the campaign launches on July 16th with an epic 60-second film during a show dedicated to the moon landing. The film itself features a skateboarding astronaut in zero G environment, accompanied by a voiceover that recollects what millions saw that summer night of 1969. At the same time, it illustrates the feeling of driving a Nissan Qashqai equipped with Nissan’s ProPILOT technology (semi-autonomous driving tech). The spot concludes with a simple line: “Technology is beautiful, when it moves us.”
The score is Johann Strauss' II Blue Danube, a homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey. The sound-design elements stem from real sounds captured in the context of space exploration over the last 50 years.
Planned and bought by Manning Gottlieb OMD with creative by TBWA, the full 360 campaign includes TV, cinema, press ads, digital and social activations and will air across Europe. It gives life to the marketing mantra “the right message at the right moment” in a spectacular way that connects deeply with the audience.
