'Milwaukee’s Hype Man' Bobby Portis Jr Shares His Love for the City in Social Campaign

With the summer travel and vacation season in full swing, VISIT Milwaukee, which markets the Greater Milwaukee region as a premier location for business and leisure travel, is partnering with 'Milwaukee’s Hype Man'  – Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis Jr. – to help drive visitations and promote all of the great and authentic things the city has to offer.

The centrepiece of this influencer partnership is a 90-second film, along with a series of 15-second social videos, showcasing Bobby’s love for Milwaukee. The films highlight the city’s broad range of popular attractions, from its Colectivo Lakefront to the Riverwalk, Bradford Beach, Harley-Davidson Museum, Milwaukee Public Market and Iron Horse Hotel.  Pouring coffee, playing volleyball, enjoying local food favourites…these are just some of the ways that Bobby demonstrates how there is 'nothing more Milwaukee than that.'  The work was created by VISIT Milwaukee’s, Milwaukee-based creative agency partner, Hanson Dodge.

In a recent interview, Bobby was quoted, saying, “Being able to represent the city of Milwaukee is great…I wear it with pride.” added Josh Albrecht, VISIT Milwaukee’s VP of marketing and communications, “We love this partnership with Bobby and are looking forward to more like it with other athletes, entertainers, musicians and artists throughout the city.”

The work will appear across VISIT Milwaukee’s and Portis’ social media channels beginning in July. It will primarily target visitors in markets within a six-hour drive of Milwaukee. These include Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Ohio, among other locations.
