Spot starring Rob Riggle invites beer lovers to become literal beer ads on game day

This year, Miller Lite isn’t running an official ad in the Big Game, instead they will be running a thousand by inviting Miller Lite fans to become literal beerads during the Big Game.

While fans won’t actually be on the television screen, Miller Lite is putting QR codes on MillerLite fans in the form of jerseys to wear as they run, maybe to get a Miller Lite for themselves ortheir friends during the Big Game commercial breaks, making them a literal running beer ad.

Here’s how it works:

1. To become a Miller Lite Big Game Ad, all fans have to do is sign up online here starting February 1st. The first 1,000eligible fans will receive $100, a Big Game Ad kit, and an official Miller Game TimeJersey.

2. On February 11th during the Big Game commercial breaks, official Miller Lite Big Game Ads will embark on their ‘beer runs,’ advertising for Miller Lite via their Miller Lite GameTime Jersey.

3. Get scanned! Miller Lite Big Game Ads can encourage nearby fans to scan the QR codeon their Miller Lite Game Time Jersey and register for a chance to get what they reallywant: beer money.

If you don’t snag a jersey, don’t worry - you won’t be benched! You can still play by simplyspotting a Miller Lite Big Game Ad, scanning their QR code, and registering. On Feb 11, beer-lovers who see an official Miller Game Time Jersey can scan the QR code and register tounlock the chance to win beer money on Miller Lite. Between cash for Miller Lite and cash for the official Big Game Ads, Miller Lite is doling out up to $170,000 worth of beer money and other rewards throughout Big Game weekend and the days following. Fans can visit here for more information and a chance to win.

Miller Lite has partnered with actor, comedian, lifelong football enthusiast, and Miller Lite fan Rob Riggle to be their lead beer runner, encouraging fans to sign up and participate in Running of the Beer Ads.

“To me, Miller Time is game time and I'm stoked to bring more beer to fans during the Big Game with the official Running of the Beer Ads,” said Riggle. “I’ll be ready to run along fans during the commercial breaks - even if it’s just to the fridge to grab my next Miller Lite and back.”

Last year, Molson Coors released a first-of-its-kind Super Bowl commercial. The interactive High Stakes Beer Ad allowed fans to engage in real-time betting, predicting which Molson Coorsbrands would be featured in the 30-second spot. Once aired, viewers got to enjoy an epicshowdown between Miller Lite and Coors Light with an unexpected twist at the very end, revealing that it was a Blue Moon ad the whole time. This year, Miller Lite is focusing on givingback to their fans in a way they’ll appreciate it most, with more beer money.

“This is one of the largest beer selling moments of the year, and Miller Lite has a history of taking the spotlight in unexpected ways during the Big Game.” said Ann Legan, vice president of marketing, Miller Family at Molson Coors. “Instead of appearing on the television screen, fans will be able to show up with Miller Lite during an iconic beer moment.”

Registration to become a runner begins on Feb 1st at 9AM EST / 8AM CST and closes at 11:59PM CST. Starting February 1st, 25+ year-old Miller Lite and football fans everywhere cansign up here to claim their official Miller Game Time Jersey. Plus, the top five fans whose jerseys get scanned and entered the most during the Big Game will receive beer for a year for having the most seen ads. One scan per person.
