The meerkats have finally made it Down Under and they’re on a top secret mission to uncover why Australians visit their website looking for good health insurance deals in a campaign via VCCP.
The latest instalment of the TVC series – ‘Undercover Sergei’ – has launched and opens with Aleksandr Orlov, CEO and Most Handsome Founder of comparethemeerkat.com.au ordering his hapless sidekick Sergei to find out why Australians are still going to their website looking for health insurance.
From the comfort of his undercover ‘lice’-cream van, Aleksandr walkie-talkies in to Sergei who is hanging precariously from the roof of the comparethemarket.com.au office tower.
Despite being no Tom Cruise, Sergei does his best spy impression and eavesdrops on the meeting inside. We hear a comparethemarket.com.au executive giving a presentation on helping customers find a great health insurance deal in light of the impending 1 April premium increase. However, the man is soon stopped in his tracks when he sees a meerkat in a tie dangling in front of the window.
Realising his cover is blown, Sergei makes a hasty retreat, crash-landing in front of the spy van. Aleksandr, still safely inside and enjoying a bag of popcorn, asks his audience, “please buy health insurance from Compare the Market”.
Aleksandr tells us: “Even after much efforts from myself and fur moulting from Sergei, people still come to my website looking for health insurance deal! So I tell Sergei, this means business. Spy business.”
‘Undercover Sergei’ is the initial instalment of the Mission Impawsibles campaign, which for the first time brings the meerkats into the human world of comparethemarket.com.au.
