Media.Monks Transforms Memories from Permanent Tattoos to Eternal NFTs

Tattoos are a great way to carry stories and memories with you permanently. Can they be transformed into eternal memories that live on beyond its human canvas? Based on Media.Monks’ Nadiya Haddad’s incredible tale of transformation, the digital creative company set out to translate her tattoo commemorating her journey and convert it into an NFT - giving it eternal life in the digital space.

The project, and corresponding film ‘Permanent to Eternal’, celebrates heritage and symbolism, translating physical tattoos to digital artwork and will have a place in Moco Museum’s exhibition NFT: The New FuTure for two weeks. The inclusion of the project in the exhibition is celebrated with an exclusive event at the museum, where visitors can learn more about ‘Permanent to Eternal’ from Haddad and her colleagues.

Nadiya Haddad, Executive Producer at Media.Monks says, “The place where you are born, the language you speak and your beliefs should not be limitations or hold you back from following your dreams. To have the chance to translate this message into a piece of art on my body and, furthermore, make a good use of technology to make it last beyond my days, so future generations can experience it, is an honour to me.”

The NFT: The New FuTure exhibition is an evolving exhibition at MOCO Museum that involves different collectors and artworks that highlight the changing landscape of NFTs . The unique digital art exhibition is based on blockchain technology featuring a selection of rare art NFTs in Amsterdam and Barcelona. Moco is one of the first museums in the world to share NFT art with the public in this way.
