Truck drivers carry all types of load: wood, rocks, food and beyond. But the heaviest load is the one that families carry; counting the days waiting for their driver to come back home. Thinking of softening this burden, Ford Trucks created a technological calendar that was given to truck drivers during maintenance check-ups at dealers.
The Comeback Calendar doesn’t only give you the dates. By using a mobile device and a GPS installed on the truck, the calendar knows when the trucker is coming back home. When he is less than 1 mile from home, the calendar alerts his family by flashing lights and honking the horn.
The device can be updated annually with 12 removable cards. So when going for a maintenance check up, Ford truck drivers will receive the monthly cards for the coming year.
"Ford Trucks creates the best trucks for drivers to transport any cargo with comfort and safety, but we know the weight that his absence is for his family. So we decided to create a different calendar using technology for the benefit of those who love the trucker the most," says Vico Benevides, Executive Creative Director of Blue Hive.
The experiential technology for the Comeback Calendar was developed by MediaMonks' São Paulo office who worked in collaboration with GTB Brasil, the agency responsible for the creative concept.
