Lisa Hughes has been named executive director of account management at McKinney. In her new role, Hughes is responsible for leadership and development of account management across all three of the agency’s offices - Durham, Los Angeles, and New York - as well as continuing to drive growth for client brands and oversight of all of the agency’s accounts.
“Throughout her time at McKinney, Lisa has elevated our account management practice in all aspects,” said McKinney CEO Joe Maglio. “Being entrenched in a client’s business is a critical area where we can add value, and she has demonstrated this time and time again. I look forward to Lisa’s skills being brought to bear across all of our client partnerships.”
A 20-year veteran at McKinney, Hughes has spearheaded the agency’s Effie- and Cannes Lion-winning 11-year relationship with Sherwin-Williams and led the team that birthed Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome, also recognised by the Effies. Along the way, Lisa has led efforts for other agency clients including P&G, DuPont, Lenovo, Gold’s Gym, Coldwell Banker, Aetna, and Ad Council.
Hughes was recently invited to bring her experience and expertise into the classroom as an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina’s School of Media and Journalism, where she taught the university’s first course in advertising agency account management during the 2019 spring semester.
“I couldn’t be more excited about my newest challenge at McKinney,” said Hughes. “We believe relationships form the foundation for powerful and effective work. I see this as an opportunity to inspire and support our account management team to take the agency’s long tradition of building strong, successful client relationships to the next level.”
