McCann today announced the appointment of Polly McMorrow, to CEO, McCann London. Currently managing director at BBH, London, Polly succeeds Sheryl Marjoram whose departure to her native Australia was announced late last year.
Polly joins the agency to lead its award-winning London outpost, to build on the business and creative success of the past five years and cement McCann London’s position as a key global hub within the network. Reporting to Mark Lund, president, McCann Worldgroup Europe & UK, she will join the London leadership team, working closely alongside co-presidents and UK CCOs Rob Doubal and Lolly Thomson.
Polly joins from BBH, London, where she was managing director, bringing an impressive track record in the development of award-winning, creative work for Clients - most notably Audi, where she produced work such as the Cannes Lion award winning Clowns and was part of the team who won back-to-back IPA Effectiveness Agency of the Year Awards; including a Grand Prix for Audi.
Commenting on Polly’s appointment, Chris Macdonald, chairman and CEO, McCann, said: “It is critical that we keep attracting the best talent to McCann and we are delighted that Polly is joining us to lead one of our most important offices.”
“We are absolutely thrilled that Polly is joining us. Not only will she build on the strong legacy of female leadership, she is a great ambassador for creative and strategic brilliance and business excellence. Her track record speaks for itself and we look forward to a fantastic new chapter for McCann London with Polly at the helm,” said Mark.
Commenting on her new role Polly said: “I’m immensely proud to be joining McCann, an organisation I have watched and admired for some time. They have a modern, creative and pluralist approach and I’m excited to be joining such a brilliant team who share my passion for creativity, along with a genuine love of clients and their business. After 14 wonderful years, BBH will always hold a place in my heart, and I now look forward to this new challenge.”
This move follows a year of industry recognition for McCann London including being named a Top 50 global creative agency by WARC and ranking Cannes Lions 2nd most creative UK agency in 2021. Regionally the network was named Campaign Magazine’s EMEA Creative Network of the Year for the 3rd consecutive year; The Effie Awards’ #1 Most Effective Agency Network in Europe for the 5th consecutive year and was awarded a host of Cannes Lions including a Grand Prix in 2020, won in partnership with clients such as Microsoft, Mastercard, Aldi, Reckitt and L’Oréal.
