Maxus UK Wins npower Digital Business

Set to handle natural and pair-for search, affiliates, digital display, social and content creation

Maxus UK has been appointed to handle the digital media planning and buying business for RWE npower, the RWE Group energy company subsidiary.
 

Maxus UK was awarded the account after a three stage process which was narrowed down to a final six-way pitch.

 
As part of npower’s customer growth and retention strategy, the agency will handle all digital services, including natural and paid-for search, affiliates, digital display, social and content creation. A 15 strong Maxus team will be working alongside the npower digital marketing division.
 

Jon Drinkwater, head of digital, at npower said: “Consumers are increasingly going online when they’re considering how to heat and power their homes and manage their energy use. We need to be communicating with them at every step of their journey. Because of the changing nature of the domestic energy market, digital has become an increasingly important part of our marketing and communications tool-kit. In Maxus we’ve found an agency that’s innovative, driven and hugely insightful about consumer behaviour.
 

Tim Irwin, chief operating officer at Maxus UK said: “We start in September which is timely as this is when people consider the approaching winter and think about heating bills. npower has brought us on board to help them communicate better with their customers through online content and services. This is a significant win for Maxus’ digital division which has seen strong performance and 25% growth this year.”
