After being shortlisted in the 2021 Awards programme, Marjin Roozemond, senior creative strategist at international creative music agency MassiveMusic, has officially been recognised as ‘Strategic Young Contender of the Year’ at the Transform Awards Europe and will be included in the 2021 Yearbook.
With their Young Contenders programme, Transform identifies the next generation of strategic, creative and innovative brand specialists, celebrating those making an outstanding contribution to the industry.
A creative mastermind and an advocate for the power of music, Marijn Roozemond is one of the most promising young talents in the branding industry. He started playing the piano at the age of five and started jazzing with the saxophone after seeing ‘The Blues Brothers’.
Throughout the years, he’s been responsible for the creative strategy and development of sonic identities for numerous global brands, such as Philips, ING, Randstad and UBS. The work didn’t go unnoticed at the industry’s award shows, with The Sound of Philips winning Gold at the 2019 Transform Awards Europe for ‘Best Use of Audio Branding’ among others.
A remarkable talent within the industry, his continuous commitment can also be witnessed with MassiveMusic’s ‘Music x Mind’ social initiatives, for which he has been one of the main initiators and ambassadors – from Instruments for Change where he coordinated the creation of music samples out of traditional instruments to provide musical training in conflict-affected areas, to Music for Unforgettable Moments for Amsterdam-based healthcare provider Amsta, where he helped developing bespoke playlists to trigger meaningful memories for elderly people with mental disabilities.
“Being named a ‘Young Contender’ is a great honour for me; it acknowledges the role I have been playing within the field of sonic branding,” says Marijn. “The brand experience is shifting from a traditional approach to the latest tech and platforms – young designers and strategists are the ones who can keep challenging and pushing boundaries.”
“Future talent is worth supporting,” adds Hans Brouwer, CEO and founder at MassiveMusic. “The creative industry is always evolving. It’s refreshing to see young flag-bearers making an impact. They are the disruptors of today and the giants of tomorrow. MassiveMusic is an award-winning agency also thanks to their commitment, passion and hard work.”

The Transform Awards Europe rewards excellence and innovation in branding. MassiveMusic’s work for The Sound of O2, the sonic identity for UK’s No.1 network, also won bronze in the ‘Best Use of Audio Brand’ category.
