Having held senior leadership roles at BBR, BBDO, and Cossette, Maryse joins with a reputation for helping shape some of the country’s most talked-about campaigns and brand platforms

PIGEON, the independent strategy, design, and communication agency, has welcomed a powerful addition to its senior leadership team: Maryse Sauvé has joined as VP of brand strategy and communication.

With more than 30 years of experience spanning Montréal, Toronto, and New York, Maryse is one of Canada’s most respected strategic minds. Recognised as a regular figure among the top 200 strategists in the country, she brings with her a rare blend of intellectual rigor, business pragmatism, and creative sensibility. Prior to launching her consultancy, she held senior leadership roles at BBR, BBDO, and Cossette. Throughout her career, she has helped shape some of the country’s most talked-about campaigns and brand platforms.

Her work has consistently focused on unlocking the full potential of brand capital—whether defining distinctive positioning, shaping impactful marketing strategies, or launching new entities. She’s known for placing brand at the heart of every strategic decision, ensuring relevance, resonance, and long-term impact.

Her recent work includes award-winning programs such as BMO’s ‘Gear Up’, recipient of nearly 30 international accolades, including a Bronze Lion, a Clio, and a WARC Award; the branding and campaigns for the Olympic Park, recognised multiple times over the years; ‘La fille derrière le bureau’ (BMO), celebrated as a sustained success; The Nordic Milk (Nutrinor), which also earned awards; ‘Continuez de jaser’ (Jeunesse sans drogue); and the O'Select rebrand and campaign, which garnered recognition at the Lions.

At PIGEON, Maryse will be heading the strategy and insight team in Montréal and Toronto, working in close collaboration with Stéphane Crevier, VP, transformation and growth, to help “make brands come true”—translating bold strategic thinking into real-world business momentum.

“I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with PIGEON regularly over the past few years, and I was struck by how different their approach is. Their talent and passion won me over,” said Maryse. “So much so that after more than 15 years working independently, when I decided to rejoin a team, it became clear that this was where I wanted to be. Beyond her client work, Maryse is a respected voice in the industry. She has participated in over 150 conferences, panels, and media interviews on topics ranging from marketing to consumer behavior. She’s also shared her expertise with the next generation of leaders as a guest lecturer at HEC Montréal and the Université de Sherbrooke and has served on multiple juries evaluating strategy effectiveness and business impact.
