Kaada (John Erik Kaada) is a diverse and prolific Norwegian composer and multi-instrumentalist whose career spans a string of critically acclaimed solo albums, major motion picture scores, high-profile collaborations with key players such as Mike Patton, as well as numerous worldwide live performances.
Today he releases ‘Closing Statements’ via Mirakel Recordings – a musical reflection on a profound moment.
“The titles are quotes and fragments from different farewell utterances,” explains Kaada. “These words give a glimpse in to the individual’s overall feelings and experiences. The underlying message of the album is that we have to listen to each other.”
The spiralling arrangements feature Kaada’s deft layering of piano, keyboards, cinematic guitars and electronics, although the distinction between the organic and electronic are intentionally blurred.
In 2016, Kaada collaborated with Faith No More frontman Mike Patton to release ‘Bacteria Cult’. Other previous projects include the album ‘Music for Moviebikers” (2006) and an earlier collaboration with Patton in 2004 ‘Romances’ which paid homage to Kaada’s Classical music upbringing.
Kaada will be touring ‘Closing Statements’ later in 2018 in to 2019.
