Titled The Tunnel: Vengeance, the series stars Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy as British and French police detectives Karl Roebuck and Elise Wassermann, respectively. The plot follows the two detectives working together after their search for a serial killer who left the upper-half body of a French politician and the lower-half of a British prostitute in the Channel Tunnel. This season, which consists of six episodes, is set in Europe amidst hysteria around a refugee crisis, the increasing threat and horror of terrorism and far-right groups growing in power.
The Tunnel features an original score by composer, producer and arranger of music for TV, commercials and Film, Ben Bartlett. Bartlett has previously worked on Martina Cole’s The Runaway, Eternal Law for Kudos, Sky One′s Mad Dogs, the Brenda Blethyn starring ITV prime time hit crime drama, Vera, The Trials Of Jimmy Rose, starring Ray Winstone, the acclaimed two-part docudrama and Lucan, for ITV. His impressive roster also includes films such as Mark Of Cain, (dir. Marc Munden), and He Kills Coppers, Adrian Shergold’s adaptation of Jake Arnott’s novel.
