Lowe and Partners Madrid based agency and Nomad Skateboards have became partners in the creation of a new range – called ‘very old school’, a new product range with a very particular retro style. The first product to be launched is a skate cruiser board with new products such as accessories and clothes in the pipeline. The skate cruiser will be available in June, but preorders are open from the Nomad website (
www.nomadskateboards.com). The board will be also distributed in the UK, USA and Asia.
Here, LOLA and Nomad present an innovative collaborative model, combining synergies to create a new brand, develop new products and market them.
“We love skate boarding and we know this audience. So the idea of developing a new product with Nomad to generate a new business line and do things as we like to do them, involved from the very beginning together with our client”, says Eduardo Martínez, Creative Director at LOLA Spain.
The very old school brand comes from the old school style, that skaters link to skateboards developed between the 60’s and 80’s. LOLA and Nomad have taken a step further backwards in an online film and print campaign and they have imagined how the skateboard would have been in the 1900s society.
To communicate this new brand, LOLA has developed a campaign with a central online black and white film, with the line “The board that should have arrived over a 100 years ago, is here”. The video was shot in Madrid and shows skaters dressed in 1900s garb while performing skateboard moves on an old train station.
The graphic campaign shows different messages related to some of the milestones at the early 20th century, e.g the first atomic model or the zeppelin, but missing the invention of the skate.
Lola develops its creative work based on a close and emotional attitude, what they call “latin spirit”, for both national and international clients.
