Raf Wathion has directed a picturesque and poetic water commercial for LODYSS. This is its first campaign, therefore launching the water brand into the world, with the goal of the spot being to emphasise the water’s purity and show the history of Luxembourg’s powerful nature.
More than 30,000 years ago, Luxembourg was going through its Ice Age. At that time, the country was just raw nature, a frozen desert devoid of any human traces. It was at this time that the cycle of Luxembourg's natural mineral water LODYSS was born. Over the millennia, LODYSS was slowly filtered through the rock bed until it reached an aquifer located at a depth of 317 meters. Slowly, the water had been digging away quietly, sneaking through the rock filters. These drops went through a true odyssey. It is due to this expedition that it has a unique mineral composition. Protected by an impermeable rock layer, LODYSS has been preserved for more than 30,000 years from pollution and human nuisance. And ultimately, has conserved an incomparable purity.
The use of picturesque drone footage along with impressive VFX by Benuts makes the whole film a visual journey, which fits LODYSS’ story perfectly. Not only does the ad show the power of nature, but LODYSS themselves put forth different engagements to remain with the lowest carbon footprint possible. For example, their water is only sold in glass bottles - to completely remove the use of plastic.
Some other engagements for the environment include:
Responsible Production:
Its production has been completely redesigned in an environmentally responsible manner with significant reductions in electricity, water and gas consumption.
Short Circuit
LODYSS is a Luxembourgish water, therefore local. The carbon footprint of its production is limited as the bottling is done on the very site of its production. In their sourcing process they favour the closest suppliers.
Made alongside Binsfield, throughout the spot you can almost feel the fresh air as it gives you a sense of relaxation. Not only is the spot beautifully filmed, but the accompanying music and SFX gives the ad a sense of meditation; the type of video you would watch when you are stressed or feeling anxious.
