Little Black Book (LBB) has appointed Olivia Atkins as EMEA news editor strengthening the publication’s editorial leadership across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
A seasoned journalist, Olivia has built a strong reputation for her coverage of advertising, media, and culture. She was previously on the editorial staff of The Drum, Creative Salon, and Shots, where she covered the advertising and creative industries in depth. Most recently, she has worked as a freelancer for LBB, bringing energy and insight to its editorial coverage. Alongside her editorial career, Olivia has also worked as a content writer for Stink Films, further deepening her engagement with the creative production industry.
In her new role, Olivia will spearhead LBB’s news coverage of the advertising and creativity industry across EMEA. She will focus on news-led features exploring how the industry is responding to change, breaking stories that shape conversations across the creative sector. Reporting to managing editor, EMEA, Alex Reeves, and managing director, EMEA, Paul Cooper, she will collaborate with both the regional and global team to ensure LBB continues to deliver insightful, agenda-setting journalism.
A key focus of Olivia’s role will be expanding LBB’s position as the go-to publication for breaking major industry news. LBB has built a reputation for fair, experienced, and considerate journalism, ensuring that industry stories are told with the right context, sensitivity, and strategic timing. With no paywalls and a global readership of 500,000 industry professionals—including key decision-makers in brands, agencies, and production companies—LBB offers an unparalleled platform for news exclusives. Olivia will be instrumental in working closely with agencies, brands, and industry leaders to ensure LBB remains the preferred partner for companies looking to share significant news and insights with a global audience.
“Olivia has been a familiar and friendly presence in the advertising community for many years now, so when we got the chance to bring her into LBB in 2024 as a freelancer, we jumped at it,” said Alex. “Her energy was obvious from day one, and she's flourished as part of LBB. So I'm psyched to have her join the editorial team full-time as one of our editors. I'm looking forward to seeing her channel her vibrant spirit into working with the best creative agencies to help tell the stories about how their businesses are changing.”
"LBB has long been a trusted voice in the creative industry, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team at such an exciting time," said Olivia. " With the EMEA region evolving at pace, there’s a huge opportunity to dig deeper into the stories shaping advertising and creativity across markets. I'm looking forward to working closely with brands, agencies, and production companies to ensure LBB continues to set the agenda with insightful, thought-provoking journalism."
In Q1 of 2025, LBB has seen a 41% increase in active users compared to the same period in 2024, highlighting the platform’s growing influence and reach. As EMEA news editor, Olivia will play a key role in driving this momentum forward, delivering must-read stories that define the industry’s biggest shifts.
She joins a global editorial team and will work closely with managing editor, EMEA, Alex Reeves, as well as LBB’s network of contributors and industry insiders.
