Laughlin Constable (LC), the independent, full-service creative agency, today announced it has named Alex Helfers as EVP, head of connected experiences – a newly created role within the agency. Alex has over 20 years of digital experience in the agency and corporate space.
Most recently, Alex was group director of experience design at VMLY&R in Chicago, where he helped multinational companies and organisations reinvent their digital brands and introduce new digital capabilities. Recent clients of his include YMCA of America, FedEx, ADT, Johnson & Johnson and more.
“Alex has exactly the depth and breadth of experience we need to elevate and lead our XD and technology teams,” said Anthony Romano, CEO at Laughlin Constable. “At LC, we’re obsessed with building and growing what we call ‘personal experience brands.’ Having Alex on board significantly strengthens that promise.”
Alex's experience design work has been shortlisted for Cannes Lions awards and has won Drum, Mosaic and Reggie Awards. He has also worked on campaigns that have appeared in the Big Game.
“I’m thrilled to be joining LC’s impressive full-service team. I’ve already seen much of the great work this group puts out, and I look forward to using my experience to help our clients evolve in the digital space,” said Alex.
This new role was created as the agency strives to further develop and synthesise its experience design and technology development teams. The announcement of Alex hiring comes shortly after LC welcomed Amy Merchant, EVP and head of account management, to the agency.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communications of design and illustration from Washington University in St. Louis.
