Independent full-service agency Laughlin Constable has announced it has been named the creative agency of record for the Bronx Zoo as well as the New York Aquarium, both part of the world-renowned Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). The agency was selected following a national competitive search.
“The Bronx Zoo has been such a beloved and iconic destination for generations, so to say we’re feeling honoured by this new partnership is an understatement,” said Anthony Romano, CEO of Laughlin Constable. “The zoo’s mission to save wildlife and engage millions to care about nature through wildlife is so incredibly inspiring, and we can’t wait to shine a new, more personal light on that extraordinary story.”
WCS led the competitive agency review that began in September 2024. The agency’s first efforts will focus on executing a new brand campaign for the Bronx Zoo, aimed at reimagining the brand and inspiring visits, followed by creative work for the New York Aquarium.
“We’re at such an exciting inflection point with the Bronx Zoo, as we look to expand our reach and deepen our impact,” said Meghann Kelley, director of marketing for the Wildlife Conservation Society.
“Laughlin Constable stood out to us with their creative vision, deeply emotional understanding of our brand, and their proven ability to build meaningful personal connections between people and brands. We’re excited to partner with the LC team to bring our mission to life in bold, new ways.”
Throughout 2024, the Bronx Zoo celebrated its 125th Anniversary as the Zoo first opened November 8th, 1899 in Bronx, New York. It is one of the largest zoos in the United States, covering more than 265 acres of hardwood forest. Its world-class exhibits include the Congo Gorilla Forest, Wild Asia Monorail, Tiger Mountain and more. The New York Aquarium is the oldest continuously operating aquarium in the United States, and is located in Coney Island, New York. The global non-profit Wildlife Conservation Society’s mission is to save wildlife and wild places worldwide through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature. WCS manages the Bronx Zoo, New York Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Zoo and Queens Zoo and manages conservation field programs in more than 50 countries.
2024 was also a notable one for Laughlin Constable with the agency being named Ad Age 2024 Small Agency of the Year, and with its work being recognised with a 2024 Effie and Clio awards, and many other top honours.
