KODE has announced the appointment of Emily Bowell as new business director, marking another exceptional addition to their formidable team. Emily has a distinguished background in advertising sales including roles at Caviar, Park Pictures, and Circle Productions, with a stellar reputation for driving increased growth across commercial, and hybrid projects.
A Vancouver native, Emily was inspired to cross the Atlantic after seeing Megaforce’s ‘Nothing Beats a LNDR’. The campaign for Nike left a lasting impact on her, cementing her passion for dynamic storytelling and innovative media solutions. “When I came across Wieden+Kennedy’s campaign I knew I had found the place I wanted to work.” said Emily. “Despite there being a fantastic film industry in Vancouver, with world-class crew and wildly beautiful locations, I was ready for a challenge and wanted to be closer to the heart of the action. London felt like an epicentre where I could rub shoulders with agencies and brands and take on projects that were a bit bolder and more ambitious. I saw ‘Nothing Beats a LNDR’ and flew out just a few months later.” Emily added.
That’s also what attracted Emily to KODE. Her alignment with the company’s commitment to pushing creative boundaries, makes her a like-minded hire by the Production Studio. “KODE is home to an exceptional array of visual storytellers, with a track-record for nurturing young talent and championing different points of view. This coupled with their roadmap for future growth… I know we’re in for something really special. I can’t wait to help build and promote the legacy moving forward.” said Emily.
During Emily’s time at Caviar, working alongside sales veteran Georgie MacEachern, she cultivated a broad network of agency and brand relationships across the UK and Europe. Her track record in fostering relationships and navigating the complexities of the UK market make her invaluable. Reflecting on her move to KODE, Emily added, “I love that KODE was founded right here in London, by five friends who 12 years on are all still central to the company day-to-day. This brings a level of passion and care that you don’t see just anywhere. The energy is tangible – and obviously catching, as KODE has attracted a knock-out team of experts in their craft. I’m excited to be a part of it all.”
Alex Harman, CEO and KODE co-founder, said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Emily to the KODE family as our new new business director! Emily brings a wealth of experience, a deep understanding of the industry, and a genuine passion for nurturing director talent. She’s the latest in a series of fantastic additions to our team, each one strengthening KODE as we look ahead. With Emily on board, we’re more ready than ever to take on 2025 and all the new opportunities it holds.”
