Blind Pig, animation studio and sister company to Absolute, are proud to welcome Josephine Gallagher into the role of executive producer. Josephine joins following a four-year stint at Nexus, with previous roles at Agile Films, Blink Ink and Fat Lemon.
Josephine first entered the industry as a Receptionist at Picasso Pictures, back when “you could just knock on doors and pimp your CV around Soho”. She has since built a career dedicated to producing live-action and animated projects, alongside navigating competitive pitch processes.
She has led successful animation projects in collaboration with agencies such as Mother, adam&eveDDB and BBH, and has very happy memories of chunky projects for Guinness and John Lewis Christmas. But her career highlight to date was lockdown film, Drawn Closer. Directed by Disney/Pixar alum Patrick Osborne (whose knowledge of character animation Josephine describes as ‘unparalleled’), the film went on to win several awards, including a gold Cannes Lion.
Of her new role, Josephine comments, “I have had the pleasure of working with Absolute on multiple occasions and always admired their work and team spirit. I truly believe that animators are the nicest and most patient people you’ll ever meet, so it’s a real privilege to work alongside the passionate team at Blind Pig. The work is already strong – so my aim is to provide industry insight and relationships to help grow the brand.”
Ric Comline, creative director, adds, “Josephine is the perfect fit for Blind Pig as we work towards our future. We’re working on some amazing creative campaigns and her arrival will help elevate our offering to a wider audience. Plus, she’s a real dog lover, so it’s win-win.”
