What a day! Yesterday we wrapped our first professional development masterclass at our incredible hosts and Bronze Sponsors BBH London, and honestly? It was transformative! TBH this info wasn't just useful for individual job hunters - SMEs would get loads out of this workshop because a brand is a brand is a brand and there are ways to position ourselves and put our best foot forward that with a bit of expert knowledge, fall into place!
We dove deep into CVs best practice and LinkedIn strategy (yes, including the mysterious toggling of the backend that makes all the difference!) with the absolutely brilliant recruitment duo Helen Kimber and Samantha Peace from Creative Connections.
The room was buzzing with those lightbulb moments we all crave – when you think you understand something, but then an expert explains it and suddenly everything clicks? That's exactly what happened as attendees discovered POWERful new approaches to take control of their career journeys.
Athene Parker brought her signature energy to mindset work, introducing visualisation techniques and what can be a game-changing exercise "challenges vs. growth" framework that keeps confidence on track and soaring, even during tough job searches, knock backs & disappointment, and yes, we all struck Power Poses! Not only did the Wonder Woman stance & Victory V bring immediate energy & plenty of laughs, but the science backs it up – these poses trigger endorphins and bursts of testosterone! The confidence hormones that prep you brilliantly for any interview scenario.
Pro tip alert: Always test your tech well before virtual interviews! No one needs that last-minute software update panic!
The collective wisdom in the room that ascended throughout at micro Q&A breaks reminded us all of some powerful truths: you know more than you think, your network is wider than you realise, and small daily steps create massive momentum. During stressful job transitions, doubling down on self-care isn't optional – it's essential. Step away from the LinkedIn (socials) doom scroll, prioritise what brings you joy, and remember to be your own biggest cheerleader. You really have come further than you think.
