Isobar and SheSays have announced the details of the inaugural ‘SheSays awards’. Building on the precedent for championing female creativity by the ‘Golden Stilettos,’ the re-freshed awards include new criteria, prizes, judges and a new awards ceremony venue.
The renewed awards open for entries on 22nd April and close on 14th May. Judges for the inaugural prize include Laura Jordan Bambach (President at D&AD and Creative Partner at Mr President), Nick Bailey (ECD/CEO at Isobar), Emma Sexton (Founder & Creative Director of Make Your Words Work) Steve Price (Founder and Creative Director of Plan-B Studio), Andy Sandoz (Founder and Creative Partner, Work Club) and Rosie Bardales (ECD, BETC). Judging will take place from Thursday 15th May with the winners to be announced at a ceremony and panel discussion in Isobar HQ in London week commencing 19th May.
The categories for the SheSays awards 2014 include an Industry award, a Student award, an Isobar award and the Drum: Woman of the year. The Industry Award will be given to a female who will have played a demonstrable role in producing an ‘idea without limits’ for a client within a creative industry. This female (or mixed gender creative duo) can be from any discipline; e.g. a strategist, creative, account handler and must be able to show that they played a key role in the planning, management or production of this idea. The Student award is for a student in full time education or on placement at an agency, from any discipline, who also believes they took part in an ‘idea without limits’. Isobar’s award champions the epitome of ‘idea’s without limits’ and is open to submissions from any discipline, on any creative idea that uses technology to solve a real world problem, which is not part of a live or up coming campaign for a client. The Drum Woman of the Year Award will emulate The Drum’s prestigious Top 30 under 30’ competition with a popular vote mechanic to seek out the women who have made an outstanding contribution to the creative industry.
Isobar CEO and ECD, Nick Bailey said: "Isobar is incredibly proud to be part of an initiative that recognises and rewards the long under-represented creative contribution of women to our industry."
The SheSays awards forms the first instalment in a programme of activity by Isobar and SheSays, the global creative network for women. The union affirms Isobar’s philosophy to support ideas without limits wherever they come from. Over the coming year, the global duo will work together on re-launching the SheSays Awards alongside work placement opportunities for young women, open briefs, hack days and events with leading figures within the industry.
