Irresistible Ignites a Dance Party for Extra Refreshers Gum

Breaking through the monotony of the nine to five, Irresistible Studios’ latest spot for Extra Refreshers gum combines good mood and good flavour in a transformative taste explosion unveiling its latest Tropical Flavour gum. 

Despite the vibrant colour palette, stylish stationery and eclectic accents dotted around the office environment, it is obvious that something extra is needed to brighten the day for Jessica, who stars in the film as a quirky office worker. She launches a single piece of Extra Refreshers Tropical Flavour gum into the air, before chomping down to ignite a taste-fuelled party in her mouth. Her tongue becomes a dance floor for the bubbly Extra Refreshers dancer. Switching back into the colourful office, audiences witness how her mood has been uplifted and energised; with her cheeks glowing and eyebrows wiggling. 

Directors Stefano & Alejandra worked hard to create mood films and source the perfect imagery to elevate the visual aspects of the film. Focusing on textures and colours both inside and out of the animated mouth scene, the spot gives massive attention to detail, despite it’s 15 second duration. Their creative choices were enhanced by decisions made in casting, which included choosing an actor who could tell the story using just her facial expressions. 

The bubbly dancer inside the CGI mouth had to appear fun, whimsical and energetic. To achieve this, Irresistible created a motion capture dance sequence to fit in with the edit, and then applied the MoCap actions to the dancer character. The design of the bubbly dancer reflected both the tropical flavour of the gum and the uplifting sensation felt when chewing Extra Refreshers. 

Stefano & Alejandra commented, “This film is a fun adventure for us and the viewers. The goal was to present Extra Refreshers Tropical Flavour gum in a fun, captivating and slightly bizarre way. We wanted the mood of this film to be lively, whimsical, and utterly entertaining. A sense of playfulness and quirkiness permeates every scene. The peculiar and energetic tone is underscored by quirky characters, fun performances, stylised premises and unique visual style.”
