Independent agency led BLAC (Building Leaders & Creators), a 12-week paid internship for young Black creative thinkers, is now accepting applications at BLAC Internship. Interested applicants are asked to submit a 2-minute MP4 video that shows and/or tells what makes them a creative thinker and problem solver. Deadline is March 18th.
The program takes place at 20 independent agencies around the country and participants have the opportunity to work on real world briefs from program sponsor Procter & Gamble. BLAC placed 70% of last year's interns in full-time agency jobs, many at agency's who hosted interns.
Jaydin Geer who participated last year and is now employed at barrettSF in San Francisco as a Production intern said that "This internship single-handedly changed my life." The sentiment was echoed by Aneya Raynor, who is now an editorial graphic designer at Gallopade.
Participating agencies in 2022 include returning agencies barrettSF, Burns Group in New York City, Cornett in Lexington, KY, DNA in Seattle, Humanaut in Chattanooga, TN , Noble People in New York, OKRP in Chicago, Preacher in Austin, and St. John & Partners in Jacksonville, FL . New agency partners include Escape Pod in Chicago, Fig in New York, Haddad & Partner in Fairfield, CT, Mind+Matter, Mooslyvania in St. Louis, Odysseus Arms in San Francisco, Quirk Creative in New York, Response Media in Atlanta, Unfold in LA and Upshot in Chicago.
With the participation of agencies from across the country, students will be exposed to different types of work environments and a wide range of industry roles, making this a robust program that distinguishes BLAC from other single-agency internships.
