The New York office of FCB has brought on renowned creative talent, Ida Gronblom, as executive creative director. She joins the agency from 72andSunny NY where she was executive creative sirector on Etsy, Grubhub, Seamless and Zoom.

FCB NY has also promoted Alexandre Abrantes from creative director to group creative director. Alexandre has been part of the award-winning team behind the recent 'McEnroe vs. McEnroe' for Michelob ULTRA, 'Mike’s in a Beer World' for Mike’s Hard Lemonade, and this year’s B2B Cannes Gold Lion winner 'Song for Every CMO' for Spotify.

Ida will serve as creative lead on Marcus by Goldman Sachs and play an active role in helping to drive new business for the agency, which over the past year has landed AOR duties for Marcus, Morningstar Forms, Bitgreen, Total by Verizon and others. She will also focus on building out and growing FCB NY’s creative discipline alongside co-chief creative officers Michael Aimette and Gabriel Schmitt.

With his promotion, Alexandre will take on an elevated creative leadership role across FCB NY’s roster of AB InBev brands, including Michelob ULTRA, Michelob ULTRA Organic Seltzer and Mike’s Hard Lemonade.

“Everything Alex has touched at FCB NY has turned into utter success,” said Gabriel Schmitt, co-CCO, FCB NY. “As amazing as it is to bring in new top talent as we grow, nothing is more gratifying than promoting the talent that has gotten us here in the first place. Alex is an undeniable force, and a true creative leader.”

Ida got her start in Stockholm as a fashion designer for H&M in 2000. That path took a turn when an agency’s creative presentation to the global retailer piqued her interest in advertising - so much so that she left her job and immediately applied to ad school. After graduating she landed a position at Wieden+Kennedy London where she spent the next four years as an Art Director/Copywriter and creative force behind award-winning work for Nokia, Honda and The Guardian. She moved to Wieden’s NY offices in 2011, eventually leaving to join Anomaly as group creative director where her most notable work included the iconic “Made by You” platform for Converse, Squarespace’s Super Bowl campaign with Key & Peele, and an Oscar’s campaign for Kohl’s. Ida left Anomaly to join VCCP NY in 2019 as Executive Creative Director before landing her most recent role at 72andSunny.

Ida also has quite the side hustle. She and her husband are currently readying the launch of a new fully automated, tech-enabled modern hotel brand across the US The first location is slated to open in NYC in 2023.

“Ida is the perfect mix of designer, writer, entrepreneur, and pure creative talent. She has roots in fashion and advertising and interests stretching far beyond. She’s never finished and always pushing, and that’s exact type of person we look for to continue to bring diversity of thought and experience to our team,” said co-CCO Michael Aimette.

“I joined FCB NYC because of the creative momentum the agency is having right now—and its leadership had me at hello,” said Ida. “I’m excited to get to work with both Michael and Gabriel and by extension, Susan Credle and Danilo Boer. What an amazing creative family.”
