Hurricane Sharon Descends on BBC

There’s a storm brewing Soapland, and the UK’s most popular serial looks set to bear the brunt of it as this trailer from Red Bee Media attests.

 

Helmed by director Matt Rhodes, the dramatic spot has been created to celebrate the return of Sharon Rickman/Watts/Mitchell (yup, she’s the marrying kind) played by Letitia Dean. With shades of the Wizard of Oz and Carrie, the spot sees clouds gathering above the soap’s homeland of Albert Square. Sharon descends from the sky in a wedding dress.

 

The spot comes from the Red Bee Media, which provides creative for trailers and teasers for various radio and TV channels in the UK. Director Rhodes was previously an art director and has since shot a number of acclaimed BBC trailers and idents, including the high profile Heroes spots for BBC2.
