Cincinnati agency to promote cruise line’s unique guest experience and attract cruise enthusiasts

Holland America Line has named Cincinnati advertising agency Curiosity its creative agency of record, charged with handling all brand, creative and social media duties. 

The agency will develop a sharpened brand platform including a brand refresh and updated positioning, create fully integrated campaigns supporting key destinations and company milestones, as well as produce relevant social content and activations attracting Holland America Line guests.

The full range of work will bring to light Holland America Line’s distinct service, size, and range of destinations including Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean. Holland America Line travels to 7 Continents,100+ Countries, 400+ ports of call, with a distinct fleet of 11 mid-sized ships filled with one-of-a-kind experiences.

From its culinary council and acclaimed Music Walk which includes Lincoln Center Stage, B.B. Blues King’s Club, and Billboard Onboard, to its renowned personal service, Holland America Line is a special cruising experience. 

“As we approach our 150th anniversary and return to service, we thought it was the perfect time to bring on a partner that can help us build on our heritage and tell the story of our unique guest experience,” said Kacy Cole, vice president of marketing for Holland America Line. “Curiosity impressed us with their genuine passion for our brand and their innovative approach to creative.”

“To gain a full understanding of the uniqueness and quality of service that comes with a Holland America Line mid-sized ship, you can’t just read about it. You have to experience it,” said Ashley Walters, partner and chief development officer at Curiosity. “We sent two Curiosity strategists on a seven-day Holland America Line cruise so they could capture all the exceptional service details, big and small, through photos, video, guest and crew interactions. We wrote the strategy while aboard the ship because it was the most authentic way to feel the distinction. We are excited to bring the strategy to life through a new brand platform, memorable creative, and guest activations that tap into Holland America Line’s true differentiation.
