After three years at Africa Creative, one of the most awarded agencies in Brazil, Hélio Maffia and Yllo Pedra have announced their departure from the agency to take on the role of associate creative directors at FCB New York. The duo previously led Budweiser’s creative work in Brazil as creative directors, with a strong focus on culturally-driven and entertainment-focused campaigns.
During this time, they signed off on projects that have won over 100 awards at national and international festivals, including a Titanium Lion at Cannes for Budweiser and a Latin Grammy nomination for the short film ‘Meu Karma’, by artist Jovem MK.
Their work also helped Budweiser be named the most creative brand in Brazil at the 2023 Brazilian Creative Club, and contributed to AbInbev’s position as the most awarded advertiser in the country for two consecutive years.
In this new chapter, they join the creative team at FCB New York, working on brands such as Michelob Ultra, Budweiser, and Spotify, under the leadership of fellow Brazilian Alex Abrantes.
The move marks the end of a cycle that began in 2022, and the start of a new international chapter in their careers.
