Heineken has been present at social gatherings since 1873. But nowadays, with everyone cooped up inside their homes, we’ve been forced to find new and different ways of getting together and having a beer. This means that to socialise responsibly we also have to deal with new minor annoyances: glitched screens, poor connections, and photobombs are just some of the new challenges that put hanging out with friends to a test. And everyone know it's not the best get-together, but definitely, it's the best way to get together.
The campaign was produced by Smuggler and shot remotely over four days in the middle of the lockdown, via Zoom (or video call, in case we can’t say Zoom) The ‘sets’ were the actual cinematographers’ homes, from London to Sydney and the ‘actors’ were the DOPs themselves, their partners or their housemates. All this while the director Chris Smith (Tiger King, Fyre Festival, Jim&Andy: The great beyond) sat in LA and the agency spread between Milan and Amsterdam. The music is a cover of David Lee Roth’s version 'That’s life', recorded by Sizzer in Amsterdam.
