Hercules Film Fund and Rhea Films have closed a deal to finance and produce a feature-length version of 'Power Signal' - the sci-fi short from director Oscar Boyson that had its world premiere in Sundance’s Midnight Shorts section last Friday. Hayden5 produced the short, along with producers Jordan Drake, Alex Coco, and production company Object & Animal.
The short stars Babs Olusanmokun (Dune) as an NYC delivery worker who has a close encounter with an otherworldly life form after accepting a degenerate customer’s bizarre proposition. Oscar directed the short, also starring Angela Sarafyan, Tennessee King and Will Brill, from Oscar and Erin DeWitt’s script.
The premiere of 'Power Signal' marks Hayden5’s first production at Sundance, cementing an organic evolution for the company that was founded by two NYU film school graduates, Todd Wiseman Jr. and Milos Silber, who served as executive producers on the short film.
