London’s boldest gym chain, Gymbox have launched its latest campaign, this time taking on other fitness gyms with a tongue in cheek Google advert campaign.
For those searching for gyms online, the cheeky gym brand are hijacking adverts with specific copy related to each competitor gym. And traditional gyms are not the only ones in their sights as they take on popular online fitness platform Classpass. Their cheeky response to anyone searching for Classpass reads ‘Join Gymbox and you’ll never skip a class again’
And for those who want to join Third Space, the punchy response served up is ‘Third? Never. You’ll always be #1 at Gymbox’
Fresh from its viral campaign dubbed ‘the worlds first ever four brand collab’ which had over two millions views on social, Gymbox have now turned its attention to bringing an element of disruption to the usually uninspiring Google platform.
It’s created a stir online with fans of the brand even creating memes. It’s not gone down well with all within the industry and Third Space CMO has weighed into the conversation calling it ‘kind of cheap’
Rory McEntee, marketing director from Gymbox said, Let’s face it, PPC can be a bit bland and all about performance marketing. As ‘the antidote to boring gyms, we do things differently so thought we would shake things up a bit!
You reap what you SEO and I think we’ve given all brands in the industry a bit of free PR. Having done some analysis on Google search terms, they are all up and we don’t even need a thank you from them”
