Today, GUT Network announced global chief growth officer Carmen Rodriguez has relocated from Miami to Amsterdam. She is joined by Ignacio "Nacho" Ferioli, who has been named chief creative officer for Europe following his relocation from Mexico. Together, they will oversee the network's continued rapid expansion across the region.
This latest announcement follows the launch of GUT Madrid, the network's second European office, which was unveiled in June. It further demonstrates a pivotal shift in the network's focus towards the European market.
Carmen and Ignacio join a dynamic and growing team in GUT Amsterdam, just weeks after the office brought home its first silver lion from the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, less than 12 months after opening its doors. Headed by managing director Natalia Forster, the office has been shaking up the European creative scene, welcoming multiple household-name clients, including Coca-Cola, Kraft Heinz, and Foodora, in its first year. Now, Carmen and Ignacio are set to build on this success – applying their unique expertise and creativity to further accelerate growth across the continent.
"Amsterdam is a real melting pot of culture and creativity, and I can't think of a more exciting place to work from as GUT grows its footprint across Europe – starting with Madrid," said Carmen. "This diversity of cultures and backgrounds is one of the secret sauces that makes GUT so interesting for clients looking for local work that truly resonates with both local and global audiences."
Carmen brings a wealth of experience, having already helped successfully launch six of the network's eight global offices, including Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Miami, and Toronto in just five years.
Known for establishing long-standing relationships with key clients, including Kraft Heinz, Tim Hortons, and Anheuser Busch InBev, Carmen is one of the industry's most awarded account leaders. She has won seven Cannes Lions Grand Prix and several Gold Lions, among other top awards from The Clios, D&AD, The One Show, The ANDYs, and more. In 2020 she was honoured as one of Ad Age's Leading Women (formerly "Women to Watch"), which recognises the 20 most important Women in the US who are leading cultural change in the industry, as well as The Adweek 50 List.
Likewise, Ignacio’s reputation is hard to match. With more than 60 Cannes Lions and 20 years of experience building agencies and creative departments from scratch, Nacho is known for delivering world-class work from the Americas to markets all around the world for clients such as Coca-Cola, Unilever, Mercado Libre, Anheuser Busch InBev and Volkswagen, among others. He was behind the "Manboobs4boobs" campaign for MACMA that won the United Nations Grand Prix for Good at Cannes Lions, and the very first D&AD Impact White Pencil for Latin America in 2016, making it the most awarded campaign in the history of Argentine advertising. Nacho joined GUT Buenos Aires in 2019 and and then lead the opening of GUT Mexico office in 2023.
"GUT's expansion across Europe marks a truly transformative moment for the network, and I'm excited to be a part of it," said Ignacio. I am here to continue what I have been doing in the other GUT offices that I have had the opportunity to lead so far—transmitting the agency's culture and generating business in the way we know how, based on brave ideas. There is no other way to do it. Manifesting our mission to become the most diverse, creative, and influential agency in the world."
