GumGum, the leading provider of in-image advertising solutions, announced today it has appointed Steven Wise as Senior Vice President of Marketing. Wise will lead the company’s product marketing programs, messaging strategy and industry communications to expand awareness of its in-image advertising platform among agencies, brands and publishers.
“Steven’s deep experience in ad platform marketing and his connectivity to an expansive network of influencers will be instrumental in raising GumGum’s visibility among customers and industry decision-makers,” said Ophir Tanz, CEO and founder of GumGum. “We’re delighted to have someone with his data-driven approach to marketing join our leadership team.”
Previously, Wise was VP of Industry Marketing at YP (formerly AT&T Interactive and AT&T Advertising Solutions), the leader in local search advertising, where he headed up the company’s trade marketing and insights programs. His responsibilities included running event and association marketing, analyst relations and marketing metrics.

No stranger to startups, Wise was an early employee at RealNetworks, the company that pioneered streaming media software and subscription services. While there he held a variety of senior marketing and communications roles. He later went on to build a successful marketing and digital strategy consulting practice, with a specialty in online gaming.
