After releasing the witty game show series Matchers Keepers that sees couples and flatmates find out how well their tastes really match, IKEA is now tapping into another type of gamer. Fans of the world’s most popular location-based AR game took a break from their usual hunt to try out their design skills using the new IKEA Place AR app in London’s Victoria Park.
In true documentary style, ‘Place in the Park’ was created with partner agency 72andSunny Amsterdam and follows a modern subculture of AR obsessives who brave the cold and the early mornings to augment their own realities. To celebrate the launch of IKEA Place on Android, several gamers were invited to try out the augmented reality (AR) app and put their design skills to the test. All they had to do was select and place items using augmented reality before seeing their design choices come to life in their very own living room.
