DraftKings has unveiled its thirty-second Super Bowl ad ahead of the Big Game on Sunday.
The commercial introduces a new brand spokesperson, the Goddess of Fortune; a character who’s all too familiar to anyone who’s ever placed a bet. Throughout the action packed spot, the notoriously fickle Fortune demonstrates how notable sports icons such as Joe Namath and Evel Knievel have won her favour and been inspired to greatness by her motto, “Life’s a gamble.”
The Goddess of Fortune favours the bold and DraftKings has embodied this idea by offering up to 10,0000 customers a free bet to be placed on Super Bowl Sunday, with up to five people receiving a $1 million free bet. The only catch, recipients must lay it all on the Super Bowl before the final whistle, or risk losing it all.
“The Super Bowl is an iconic sports and cultural moment we keep circled on our calendars all year long. Our Goddess of Fortune campaign offers an interactive betting opportunity for fans while also underscoring DraftKings’ brand ethos of having skin in the game,” said Stephanie Sherman, DraftKings CMO.
The spot titled 'Fortune: Life’s a Gamble', will air during the first quarter of the game. It was created by DraftKings agency of record, VaynerMedia, and directed by Doug Liman of Independent Media.
